The body of Arthur L. Shirley, killed in action at the battle at Argonne, November 10, 1918, was returned to Akron Tuesday of this week.

The funeral will be held under the auspices of the American Legion, next Sunday, September 18. Rev. Springston will have charge of the services. Interment in the Akron Cemetery.

Arthur L. Shirley was born at Greentop, Missouri, January 22, 1895 and was killed in action at the Argonne in France, November 10, 1918, age 26 years and 10 months. He was the son of W. B. and Dora Shirley, who came to Akron from Blue Hill, Nebraska, November, 1919. Deceased went into the army from that place, where he was engaged in farming. Besides his parents he is survived by J. G. and Chester Shirley, brothers of Akron, a brother, Charles A. of Blue Hill, Nebraska and sisters, Blanch Krouse and Jessie Artubun of Blue Hill, Nebraska and Dollie Shirley of Cozad, Nebraska.
